What does a lipofilling involve?
Autologous fat grafts to restore lost volume and regenerate tissues. Regeneration through the mesenchymal cells extracted from the fat, which we obtain via liposuction from other areas where there is an excess (abdomen, pubis, inner thigh…)
What uses does lipofilling have?
Lipofilling has many applications, so it can be used for:
- Increasing volume (breasts, buttocks, …)
- In indented scars by filling the space left by scar tissue
- Burns
- Damaged tissues with radiation aftereffects
- Filling and regeneration in aesthetic treatments
How is lipofilling performed?
The first step is marking the area to be treated. We perform liposuction of a predefined area, where the fat is stored in a special sterile container. That fat is washed and cleaned of non-viable remains and of local anesthesia. Once the fat is ready for lipotransfer, it is transferred into 1, 3, or 5 ml syringes. Through 1 mm incisions, we perform lipofilling in the marked areas.
Aftercare
The complication rate is very low, and the satisfaction rate is very high. There are usually few discomforts after lipofilling. Don’t be surprised by the swollen and bruised appearance in the first few days; remember that within a few weeks, your appearance will look normal.
Results
Results are usually visible after one month when swelling goes down. Depending on the treatment performed. The treatment can be repeated after 3 months.
Frequently asked questions
Will there be visible scars?
No visible scars remain after lipofilling because the incisions are very small.
What type of anesthesia is used?
Lipofilling is usually performed with local anesthesia with nerve blocks when it is carried out as a standalone treatment. For lipofilling large amounts, we use general anesthesia.
