Mesotherapy
It is a working technique based on superficial intradermal or subcutaneous injection of a product with a locoregional scope and various purposes.
Technique
There are several types of techniques, among which we highlight:
- Intradermal nappage: performing 2–4 injections per second at a distance of 2–4 mm, under permanent visual control, with an angle of incidence on the skin of 30° to 60°, allowing the needle to penetrate 1–4 mm, and simultaneously maintaining a regular pressure on the syringe plunger.
- Nappage assisted with injection gun: injections are performed at a controlled depth according to our calibration and at a slightly greater distance than the previous one between puncture and puncture. We deliver 2 drops with each shot (in the new guns, the amount of liquid can be adjusted for each shot).
Differences between mesotherapy and infiltration
- Mesotherapy: it can be as superficial as 2 mm, causes no pain, minimizes the likelihood of bruising, treats a broad area; better fluid distribution.
- Infiltration: it can penetrate to a depth between 8 and 15 mm. depending on the mesotherapist’s expertise, it works in a cone shape, which may concentrate an excessive amount of fluid in reduced areas; it is susceptible to creating bruises.
Working protocol
- Disinfection of the skin
- Technique
- After the session:
- Avoid sun exposure for 48 hours
- Avoid ionization or electrotherapy before day 3 (risk of necrosis at the level of the micro-wounds).
- Avoid moisturising creams and lotions.
Contraindications
- Fear of injections
- Serious coagulation disorders.
- Anticoagulant therapy with PT < 20
- HIV infection
- Infections caused by staphylococcus or streptococcus
